Gefilte Fish Sales to Soar Worldwide this Passover
(Kosher Today) New York- The bird flu panic in Israel has already caused a drop in poultry sales, but the beneficiary this Passover will be gefilte fish, according to Gidon Regev of M. Prop & Son. Regev says that sales of gefilte fish have already risen 15%. M. Prop & Son is the Israeli distributor of Manischewitz products. Regev predicts that Israelis will eat 450 tons of gefilte fish patties at the Passover Seder, amounting to 4.2 million patties. He said the increase in sales was because much of the public would prefer eating fish at the Seder, rather than poultry, due to fears about bird flu."
